When I was quite young, I didn’t believe in god and assumed that no one else did either because the whole notion of it just seemed ridiculous to me. I thought everyone at church was just pretending because and they had been forced to go to church every Sunday by their parents and had ended up staying when they were older because it was a nice sort of community. Then, at about ten, I realized that people actually believed that there was such a thing as a god and it blew my mind.
